Allison started swimming at about 5-6 years old where she swam for several years on the Pecan Grove Piranhas summer swim team. As Allison got older she widened her interest in sports playing, softball, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, and returned to swimming in High School on the R&R Summer league for a few seasons.
Allison graduated from Foster High School in 2003 and continued her education at University of Houston with a Bachelors in Health Education followed by a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. For the past 17+ years Allison has worked for Baylor College of Medicine in varying capacities - Medical Assistant, Health Educator, Registered Nurse, Nursing Manager, and now a Nurse Care Manager. Allison is a wife of almost 17 years and has two beautiful children - Clara & Kyler.
Allison has grown up around volunteering and has volunteered with Fort Bend County Grapes on the Brazos, Needville PTA, and with Needville Little League (both baseball and softball). She is extremely passionate about coaching and teaching kids of all ages the value of teamwork, hard work, believing in themselves, and the amazing sport of swimming!
Marilyn (aka Missy) is not just Allison’s mom; she is an avid and passionate supporter of Allison’s dream of forming the first ever Needville Narwhal’s swim team. Not ever mastering the swimming sport, she knows very well the importance of being a good swimmer. She made sure her two daughters, Allison and Christy, were excellent at the sport at young ages. Marilyn grew up in Sweeny/Old Ocean and then graduated from University of Houston with an accounting degree. Still loving her career, Marilyn continues to work part-time with a firm in Houston – Baker Tilly, US, doing tax and accounting and consulting work. Marilyn has a history of volunteering: Before her daughters were born, she became a very active Girl Scout Leader and continued to hold other positions in the Girl Scout organization while her daughters were involved. She is a former President of the Fort Bend County Fair Association and also served many years with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She is currently very active in her church – St. John’s United Methodist Church of Richmond – mostly heading up a group of ladies called the “Divas” that provide decoration for events at the church, including their “over-the-top” Vacation Bible School each summer. She is married to her husband Kirk for over 50 years and has four absolutely wonderful grandchildren, which she adores and looks forward to their family time at their Toad Hall river house on the San Bernard River and their annual “Missy/Cookie Camps” every summer.
Kellie’s love for swimming began early. She started competing at age 7 on her neighborhood swim team, then joined R&R Aquatics at age 9, where she swam summer league and trained through stroke clinics. She continued her swim career throughout high school at B.F. Terry. After graduating, she coached R&R Aquatics for 8 years, helping young athletes develop strong fundamentals and confidence in the water. Today, she’s grateful to bring that same passion and experience to the Narwhals.
When she’s not at the pool or running her real estate business, you’ll find her enjoying family time with her husband and their 3 boys. They stay busy with sports and school activities and always take advantage of any time they have to travel and go camping.
Kellie is proud to serve the Narwhals and is honored to support the athletes, families and coaches who make this team so special.
A mom of two, Ali originally signed her kids up for swim lessons purely for safety, not realizing that years later she’d be swept into the world of swim despite having zero prior team-swim experience herself.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Ali graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business and Accounting, which comes in handy when keeping the team’s books balanced and the budget afloat. Outside of spreadsheets, Ali loves spending time with her husband and two girls, reading, traveling, and attempting to visit all 30 MLB stadiums with her family. She also enjoys bowling… yes, bowling. It’s a family tradition, and she’s leaning into it proudly.
When she’s not crunching numbers, Ali can be found on a sideline somewhere cheering her girls on in bowling, softball, soccer, and now swim. She is always ready to dive into whatever comes next—just maybe not literally.
Wendy has lived in Needville her entire life and actually learned how to swim at the Live Oak club when she was about four years old! She has always loved the water and became a lifeguard and swim instructor in 1988 upon graduation from High School. For over 38 years, Wendy has loved teaching all ages and having patience with them when they are afraid of the water ever since!
Wendy was married to her loving husband for almost 25 years who supported her love of swimming (even built her a pool to make teaching easier) and was her pool guy up until his passing. Wendy has been blessed with two amazing sons who have since stepped up to help with all things and continue to support their mother's dream of being connected to the kids of our community and the world of swim!
Wendy has felt truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing community and to be able to teach children to swim when she taught their parents to swim many, many years ago . It is so exciting to finally see the dream of a swim team in our community and the hard work that the board, coaches, Live Oak club, and parents have put into it.
